Wanderer Weekly #15: Israel-Kibbutz-Week 2
In week 15 the intrepid hippy wanderer settles into his second week at the kibbutz. The history of the kibbutz culture started in 1910. The communal settlement is in northern Israel, overlooked by the famous Mount Hermon, a high-tension spot where Lebanon, Syria and Israel borders meet. The kibbutz culture, the work, the food, the people, a walk along the famous Jordan River, a trip to Mount Hermon—come hear “Stevie Wander” recount his adventures and spiritual introspection.
Co-author Steve Reifman celebrates the 50th anniversary of the ultimate hippy trail journey. His adventure, the inspiration for the book Wanderer co-written with F.T. Burke, took him across four continents through 26 countries in 1970-1971. Now, on the Golden Anniversary of his adventure, Steve Reifman – or “Stevie Wander,” as he likes to be called – tells the true tales behind the story.
