Wanderer Weekly #48 – Afghanistan & Traveling West

It’s week 48 of Stevie Wander’s year-long journey on the Hippie Trail from 50-years ago.  This week we find him on the move in Afghanistan. Stevie has a magical bus ride from Kabul to Kandahar.  In Kandahar he attempts to smuggle hashish sewn into the thick soles of Afghani shoes and sends packages to a friend back home at the post office.  As he readies to depart Kandahar towards the Iranian holy city of Mashad, he runs into the old friend from back home who provided him a “Treasure Map” that took him from Istanbul to Kathmandu.  Stevie stays one extra day in Kandahar to party with his friend Larry.  It’s time to leave fabled Afghanistan and head West toward Iran and ultimately his home.  Come hear more of the exciting stories of this once-in-a-lifetime adventure!
