Wanderer Weekly #33 – Indian Border to Kashmir Valley
It’s week 33 of the adventurous wandering hippie journey by “Stevie Wander” exactly fifty years ago. The cultural excitement and intrigue are expanding to new realms as this week we find the wanderer entering the mysterious land of India. Hindu culture, jungle-like forests, river boats, train rides, lightning bugs, mountains of marijuana plants, oppressive humidity each day, people upon people everywhere, exhausting bus trips in to the Himalayas where the weather finally cools in a mountain village road stop—the wanderer is loving India as he enters the Kashmir Valley. Come hear more about this once-in-a-lifetime adventure on the Hippie Trail.
Co-author Steve Reifman celebrates the 50th anniversary of the ultimate hippy trail journey. His adventure, the inspiration for the book Wanderer co-written with F.T. Burke, took him across four continents through 26 countries in 1970-1971. Now, on the Golden Anniversary of his adventure, Steve Reifman – or “Stevie Wander,” as he likes to be called – tells the true tales behind the story.
