Wanderer Weekly #14: Israel-Tel Aviv to the Kibbutz
The intrepid hippie wanderer boards a flight in Rome for Israel. Some seven hours later he lands in Tel Aviv. Another major culture shock to the senses as “Stevie Wander” gets used to life in Israel. Then he signs up to live out the winter months in a communal settlement, known as a Kibbutz. The wandering nomad settles down into the routine as he finishes his first week of communal living. Come join in the adventure and hear a fascinating story.
Co-author Steve Reifman celebrates the 50th anniversary of the ultimate hippy trail journey. His adventure, the inspiration for the book Wanderer co-written with F.T. Burke, took him across four continents through 26 countries in 1970-1971. Now, on the Golden Anniversary of his adventure, Steve Reifman – or “Stevie Wander,” as he likes to be called – tells the true tales behind the story.
