I’m landing on the Isle of Cyprus. It’s just a short jaunt over the sea from Israel. I disembark at the Nicosia Airport with Lisa Connors. We soon hitch a ride to cheaper accommodations in the Turkish quarter of the city where we find a hotel for the evening.

Famagusta, Cyprus
Next day Lisa and I check out of the hotel and hitch a ride to Famagusta on the East Coast of the island. Upon arriving in the port city we discover the port ticket office is closed until tomorrow morning.

The island of Cyprus slowly disappears on the Mediterranean horizon as our potato and artichoke boat chugs us back to the Levant mainland, toward Lebanon and the great city of Beirut. I play my flute as we sail to a new shore.
