I traveled as a young man on the Hippy Trail. Many of the stories in Wanderer take me back to the times of my youth when I experienced similar things on the hippy trail from Europe across the Middle East to Nepal.
Even though I’m an old man advanced in years, I feel youthful whenever I reminisce about the bygone days of my travels. I loved the freedom to do whatever I wanted and to go wherever I desired.
I actually went on the hippy trail for the first time in 1968 for 5 months. Then I went again two years later and stayed on the road for almost 20 months.
I think the writers did a great job depicting the life of a hippy in those times. My experience of Kathmandu was very similar to what I read in the book.
